Fix a dishwasher that won't spray water or makes loud grinding noises with this circulation pump motor. Repair takes 45 minutes to 2 hours for DIYers.
Because the dishwasher made noise only when washing or rinsing, and not when filling, the problem was correctly diagnosed as a faulty circulation pump. Although not difficult, it took more time to remove the dishwasher from under the counter and to reinstall it (approximately one hour) than it took to swap out the circulation pump (5 minutes). The pump swap involved only 2 mounting screws and an electrical connection plug. The pump was ordered on Saturday, shipped on Monday, and received in... Read more
Fix drainage issues and trapped debris with this washer drain pump filter. Traps lint and particles for optimal performance. Includes video guide.
When we first removed the drain filter from the washer, we noticed the O-ring had a slight defect which made removal hard and reinstallation almost a nightmare. Finally we ordered another filter when we ordered a water valve/thermistor for the mother-in-law's washer. Filter installed a lot easier than the original one. Should have ordered one way sooner! Now on to the washer. Read more

Fix dishwasher leaks or rattling during drain cycle with this drain pump housing. Snaps into place—most DIYers complete this repair in minutes.
I watched the appliancepartspros.com video to make sure I had identified the right part before I ordered it. After receiving the part, it was easy — the part itself twisted off without tools (pliers were helpful to remove and reattach the drain hose), and I was able to complete the repair without pulling the dishwasher out from under the counter. Dishwasher not cleaning dishes or making loud grinding noises? This circulation pump and motor assembly restores spray pressure and quiet operation.
I called AppliancePartsPros, talked to a technician to validate problem, ordered part. I had a great talk with the technician. Told him I have electrical engineering experience, used to fix pinball machines and that the pinballs and home appliances were the same design, i.e. inductor in series with a switch across the hot lines. After that the conversation was like two long lost cousins talking at a family barbeque! Great customer service! Read more
Dishwasher fills but won't wash or spray? This circulation pump and motor assembly restores spray pressure. Moderate DIY repair taking 1-2 hours.
The dishwasher would fill with water, and then was silent (during the time you'd expect to hear it washing. Cancel/draining worked fine too. I assumed it was the pump/motor that had failed. The dishwasher was barely 2 years old. The repair was relatively simple. I removed the racks and spinners from inside the dishwasher. I turned off power to the unit and removed the hoses. I found it easiest to pull the dishwasher out of it's space and flip it on its belly so that I could get to the... Read more
