When I first searched the AppliancePartsPros.com site for my specific model, the ice maker that appeared in the parts list was not for my refrigerator. So, I bought one from one of your competitors. After ordering the part, I first watched the video several times. Then I placed my phone on my workspace so that I could start and stop the video when following the step-by-step instructions. Then I shut down the refrigerator circuit breaker while I removed the ice container and full ice maker components. I then closed the refrigerator doors to keep the cold air in. Replaced ice maker. The hardest part was getting to the power plug behind the ice maker to remove and replace it. Once the new ice maker was installed it started making ice again. Read more

Replaced the water inlet valve assembly. That reduced the leakage to a smaller amount but did not fully stop the leakage. Replaced the ice maker assembly and that completed the repair. No leakage issues and ice maker is working with no issues. Read more

SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE . • Ice maker dispenses too much ice

Ice sensing lever (keyed onto mtr shaft) found down and would not budge. Also, test button (hidden beneath mtr) only 'beeped' when pushed. The 10 pin connector's 'clip' is also hidden against roof of freezer - mine broke but connection still seems secure. New unit was exact fit - test button (now) cycles thru one cycle of rotation and H2O fill with no beeps.... 18 hrs later, bin is half full....ice for the summer :) Remove freezer door (front) so you can lay down and look up. I've been down this road before with built in ice makers. Doesn't matter the brand. If they go just replace it. Don't bother with a service technician bill to boot. Very simple plug in replacement. Start to finish 10 minutes. Read more

After doing all the tests to determine the problem it turned out that it was likely the motor in the ice maker. Rather than fix the immediate problem with a new motor and for just a few dollars more since they're prone to failure anyway, I eliminated potentially future problems by just replacing the whole ice maker. Money well spent and my part arrived the day after I ordered it. Read more

The tech sheet test 56 said the motor wouldn't return to zero. I ordered the "Ice Maker Assy-Lp, and the Valve Assy-Water Dual". On my particular model the ice maker is in the ceiling of the refrigerator box. After removing the water filter and two screws around the drop down water filter door, the right side panel drops down by pulling it apart from 3 plastic pop-ins. The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. This didn't allow the motor coupler to float on the shaft. There is a spring inside the shaft that pushes up on the motor coupler keeping it engaged in the ice bin coupler above. Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam.
