Part Number: WPW10341320

The Water Inlet Valve is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It regulates the flow of water into the refrigerator’s water dispenser and ice maker. This valve ensures that the correct amount of water is supplied to these components, enabling the production of ice and the dispensing of water on demand.

Over time, the water inlet valve can wear out due to mineral deposits, electrical malfunctions, or general wear and tear. These issues can lead to inadequate water flow, which can affect the performance of both the water dispenser and the ice maker, or cause leaks within the refrigerator.

Symptoms of a bad water inlet valve include:

  • Water dispenser not working or having low flow
  • Ice maker not producing ice
  • Water leaks around the valve area

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You In door ice maker inop   John L. • Holly Hill , FL • September 22, 2020

Replaced both inlet valves, no joy. Upon further inspection, found ice maker harness extremely tight at lower freezer door hinge, clamped in place right at a pivot point. Essentially the harness is held in place and rotates with the door. 6 wires broken inside. Splice repair and ice maker now works. Most likely will have to replace harness eventually. Unless there is more slack inside the freezer door this will probably happen again. Very poor design. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Water remained in the bottom of the dishwasher after all cycles were complete.   Fred E. • Saratoga Springs , NY • March 21, 2014

It is very simple to fix. All the blogs recommend replacement of this part but do not explain why. This is a normally open check valve that permits the water from inside the dishwasher to drain out, either once it gets too high or just general splash. When the machine drains the pump comes on and the check valve closes. If the check valve is damaged or worn (like mine was) some of the water can pump back into the machine. So really, the problem is not that the machine will not drain but... Read more
