Refrigerator not cooling or freezer warm? A failed evaporator fan motor stops cold air circulation. DIY repair in under 30 minutes with basic tools.
Used Google to troubleshoot the issue. Inside the freezer I took the back off. Noticed two things. The evaporator motor was not turning and the top half of the coils were frozen over. Obvious fan not spinning issue. I felt the motor and it was hot. Spun the fan it it started spinning. Put it all back together. Ran OK for 5-6 more days then same issue. I ordered the new motor and then and spun the fan again. It lasted for 2 days. Had to spin the fan to get it going 2 more times until... Read more
Fix hot refrigerator walls or a non-spinning condenser fan. This motor drives airflow across coils to remove heat. Easy DIY install in 1-2 hours.
I found several "threads" on my google search which indicated that it might be caused by a non-functional condenser fan. If I spun the blades, the fan would run, but as soon as the compressor shut off, it would not start up again without my help. The replacement part was easy to find at AppliancePartsPros.com. I ordered it and had it within 48 hours. I didn't even need... Read more

16 yr old 42" Kitchenaid Superba KSSP42QKS00 built-in side by side. Freezer not cooling properly (+9 to 18 degrees and refrigerator +32 to +44 degrees). Easy fix, this was an identical match to the fan that was in the oven. The only thing missing was the foam strip, that easily came off the old fan assembly and stuck to the new one. The hardest thing was finding the part, and with a picture to verify. Ice won't dispense when paddle is pressed? This dispenser motor assembly drives the auger mechanism. Most DIYers complete installation in 15 minutes.
When there was no ice in the bin, the auger turned, but with any ice, the auger simply stalled and could not push the ice around. Did not know where the problem was, but thought if I replaced the entire lower assembly (ordered a new motor, shaft, spring and coupler for the bottom part), that should do it. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish, but ice now dispenses fine as cubes or crushed. Read more
