I took the door off via the top torx screw pin, then pryed apart the plastic trim piece that surrounds the inner window pane with the mesh screen. I removed the inside window panel which was a little tricky, and replaced the door handle. I did it with nothing more than a flathead, Phillips, and a torx. Simple fix, after determining the fuse was good and not getting voltage to it, I followed the schematic and tested the TCO. It was the problem. Ordered it from APP and received it 5 days later. Changed the part and Voila, Microwave back in action. Read more

The typical problem: plastic motor shaft shears, so replace motor which GE has a special access door on the bottom just for this because they know it's gonna happen! Read more

I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more

• Tray won't turn

Start bye removing the three screws that hold the underside of the microwave up. Once those are undone, the panel pivots down. You then need to un-attach the lights so the panel will totally come off and out of the way. The motor is plainly visible. Remove the power plug and remove the one screw then it twists out of its slot. Install the new motor and reverse the directions. Read more

I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros.com. I received the part quickly; unscrewed the old door removed it and popped on the new door part and screwed it in. It took no more than 30 minutes to replace. I saved at least $300 dollars if I had to replace the whole microwave. Read more

Had to remove door ,take door apart to get to screws that hold handle on , was a little harder then I first thought , but got it done , save lots of money from not calling repair man , service calls around here are around 100 dollars plus parts Read more

Removed the microwave from the upper cabinet, then (partially) removed the black cover. We were able to access and remove the old mounting nut from inside the unit, and clip on the new one! Read more

Added an additional light socket to the existing reflector. Changed the original 40 watt incandescent bulb to two 5 watt LED bulbs. It's actually bright enough for my old eyes now. Read more
