I ordered a new shaft and a new rotating ring. It was very simple and quick to install. I just pulled out the shaft and inserted the new shaft which snapped right in. The rotating ring just lays in there. Very pleased with the repair! Read more

After researching on the internet, I decided replacing the wave guide cover would be much cheaper than replacing the microwave. Plus I couldn't even find one that worked with the existing trim kit. Had a bit of difficulty removing the old cover, but the folks at Appliance Parts Pro answered my email question within 24 hours. I received the replacement part a day or so later. Pulled the old cover off, and snapped in the new one. Couldn't figure out how to disengage the locking tabs on the old one, so ended up just breaking them off (they're not large or strong). Read more

Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Our microwave is mounted over the range, and has dual lights underneath that light up the range. A while back in trying to replace burned out bulbs, one of the bulbs broke and in trying to remove the rest of the bulb from the socket, I accidentally destroyed the socket. We worked fine with the remaining bulb for a year or so, but it finally burned out. Unfortunately all of the replacement bulbs would only last 1-2 days before burning out again in the one socket. This was much easier than I expected. First and foremost discharge the capacitor, google has the instructions. The diagnosis was also easy, really just 3 parts, the Magnetron, the Capacitor, and the Diode. With a simple multimeter measuring the resistance I was able to determine the Magnetron had shorted out and the diode was bad. I replaced all three components which fixed my issue. Read more
