Microwave Parts

Online instructions say to carefully remove the door inner facing in order to acces the handle screws. Easily done with a couple butter knives and some patience. Popped right off. But then there was a 2 piece inner "door" still in the way. Removed two more screws then carefully pried it off the plastic clips and swung out of way. Removed handle screws and old handle. New handle is metal not plastic and uses supplied machine screws. Installed new handle and re-assembled. Read more

My particular model of microwave had one screw visible but the other hidden behind a plastic ring. I needed to pop the ring out by disengaging the plastics clips using a putty knife; then it was an easy job of unscrewing the old handle and screwing the new one in. • Tray won't turn

I googled the make and model, and found the part on AppliancePartsPros.com. The underside of the oven has a metal grille with numerous openings of various shapes and sizes. There is a rectangle that is punched into this grille, just below the motor. I pried between the vent holes to snap the connections near the perimeter on the punched rectangle. Replaced lower door interlock bracket, cam(which was redesigned), spring(I believe this was the problem) and switch. When the door opens the spring moves the cam which releases the switch"on" Button which turns on the interior light when you close the door, the latch which protrudes out from door pushes into the cam which rotates to turn off the light switch and enables operation of the microwave. I replaced the screen filter (by sliding it to the rear), and then removed the filthy charcoal filter. Then I slid in the new charcoal filter and replaced it with a new screen filter. I repeated the other side. A piece of advice: the screen filter (silver one) comes with one per unit, where as the charcoal filter came with two per unit. • Tray won't turn

The typical problem: plastic motor shaft shears, so replace motor which GE has a special access door on the bottom just for this because they know it's gonna happen! Read more

• Noisy

I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more

Replaced top and bottom plastic piece between s.s. handle bar and door. Very quick and easy. A bit pricey, but worth it. Read more
