This grease filter is an OEM replacement for Whirlpool microwaves. The filter helps to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the appliance. It is located underneath the microwave, typically in a slot behind a protective grille. Its primary function is to trap grease particles and prevent them from accumulating on internal components, ensuring optimal airflow and reducing the risk of fire.
Causes of a bad grease filter include excessive use without proper cleaning, exposure to high temperatures or grease splatters, or reaching the end of its lifespan due to regular wear and tear.
Symptoms of a clogged or defective grease filter:
- Reduced airflow or suction from the range hood
- Persistent cooking odors lingering in the kitchen
- Visible buildup of grease or grime on the filter or surrounding areas
- Clogged or obstructed air vents or ductwork
This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore range hoods and over-the-range microwaves.
