Online chat here said that the oven sensor should be replaced. I got the feeling that was a bit off, so I went with my gut and ordered the thermostat as well. Replaced the sensor and that didn't fix it. Replaced the thermostat and it worked like a charm! Flame was irregular so i noticed it was bent. Perhaps it was from cold / hot washing but that aluminum alloy is tough stuff. Just out of warranty so I replaced burner and all is well. Read more

After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. It was an easy repair to swap out the new parts for the old, and the only tool necessary was a #2 phillips screw driver. The oven would not heat up but the broiler and stove top burners all worked so I replaced the igniter. The part arrived quicker than I expected - one day with regular shipping - and the repair also went much quicker than expected. After accessing the igniter I was able to unplug the plastic modular connection. First i called sears parts direct to order this part, because that is where i purchased my electric range. they had an outrageous price of $98. unbelievable to think that such a small piece of rubber could cost that much. i also called a few other parts dealers on other websites. they also had high prices. when i called appliance parts pros they cut the cost by 50%. i am not sure if i could have found a better price because i stopped there. it is exhausting and time consuming to have to compare...
