The burner tubes had been bent one too many times and finally cracked Gregory S. • Gainesville , FL • March 14, 2015
It was a Friday afternoon, of course, I went to my local supply house for the part. I did look it up on your site first to see what I needed and how much I was looking to pay. I got there and "They don't stock those!" I said thank you and went to do more hunting. I ended up at what I found to be the only other parts place in town, and they could've ordered it, for much more than you, I don't mind paying more to get it now but am not going to wait a week to pay more. I said no and came home,...

Burners were overheating and could not be controlled finally one burner burned out entirely Ernest K. • Sanford , NC • June 06, 2015
Replaced the large burner control switches for the ones giving trouble. Since the other two switches
had seen as much use as the faulty ones, replaced them too. After putting in new switches, found that one large burner had burned out so replaced it also. Range now cooks as good as new

Broken fan switch on cooktop Michael B. • Cumming , GA • October 21, 2016
I had to take the control board off the bottom of the cooktop and replace the fan switch. The post that fits into the hand switch had broken off. The new switch cost about $35, it was an exact replacement and the whole repair took less than an hour. My wife is very happy because now she can again use the downdraft fan on the cooktop. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.

Noisy & inefficient Richard M. • Indianapolis , IN • December 06, 2016
After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. Apparently my older Whirlpool dryer has a somewhat ambiguous model number because the rollers that were shipped each time looked nothing like the originals. I realize that is not particularily uncommon - manufacturers often modify...

Microwave would say "cook" and timer would count down but turntable would not rotate and magnetron did not turn on Kathy K. • Athens , GA • January 12, 2016
Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. Appliance parts pros was the only company that had the same model number I was looking for (SZW-V16-FD-63). I ordered the relay switch, 2 days later it arrived (regular...

Burner was hard to turn on/off and almost impossible to adjust Clark A. • Austin , TX • September 01, 2014
The problem seemed to be with the switch so I watched a few youtube videos to learn more about how ranges work. After locating the correct replacement switch I ordered it on-line around 10 pm Tuesday night. The new switch arrived Thursday morning at about 10 am and I had my range back up and working like new in less that 30 minutes.
The hardest part was figuring out how to remove the slide in panel to access the switch. There were plastic washer/nuts behind each know which I was able to...

The bake element on our stove burned out Ginny A. • White Oak , GA • June 27, 2014
My husband, who was the FIX-IT repair man at our house, passed away in March. When our bake element burned out my son, who is 18 looked at me and I looked at him and we shook our heads! We hunted on the oven till we found the serial number. We googled for GE OVEN repair parts and up popped AppliancePartsPros. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
The left oven door hinge was siezing door would not open fully Tom J. • Powder Springs , GA • November 19, 2014
I ordered both hinges (if the nylon roller was bad on the left, it was probably going to go bad on the right side as well). The web site was easy to navigate, order process simple. Hinges arrived quickly. Slide the oven door up and off. unscrew the three screws for the hinge. You need to then pull up with some force (there is a big spring in there), and twist the hinge to get the last bit out. I used a hemostat to hold the spring and keep it from falling back into the hole. removed the...

Previous tenant's apparent oven fire. Randolph M. • Chicago , IL • October 19, 2018
The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. I removed the oven door (just lifts off the hinges) and proceeded to disassemble the door so as to get to the glass panes. That's when the real problems arose: the window seal rope, which lays around the edge of the opening to the oven, was burnt to a crisp -- see photos. The oven...
