Replaced the large burner control switches for the ones giving trouble. Since the other two switches had seen as much use as the faulty ones, replaced them too. After putting in new switches, found that one large burner had burned out so replaced it also. Range now cooks as good as new Read more

I had to take the control board off the bottom of the cooktop and replace the fan switch. The post that fits into the hand switch had broken off. The new switch cost about $35, it was an exact replacement and the whole repair took less than an hour. My wife is very happy because now she can again use the downdraft fan on the cooktop. After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. Apparently my older Whirlpool dryer has a somewhat ambiguous model number because the rollers that were shipped each time looked nothing like the originals. The repair was a success. The switch and came looked different from the original. I called Appliance Parts Pro, they lady on the phone said that Frigidaire changed the switch and how to wire it up correctly. Problem solved. It all works as it should. Read more

Checked the three door switches; used ohm meter to see if there was resistance or if a switch was bad. 2 out of 3 switches showed resistance with the ohm meter. The last one tested (of course the last one) NO (normally open) did not show resistance; I.e. the ohm meter reading did not change when the switch was depressed. The problem seemed to be with the switch so I watched a few youtube videos to learn more about how ranges work. After locating the correct replacement switch I ordered it on-line around 10 pm Tuesday night. The new switch arrived Thursday morning at about 10 am and I had my range back up and working like new in less that 30 minutes. Removed 2 outer screws that held on handle and 4 inner screws which held on handle to outer panel. Installed new handle with 4 screws and installed outer 2 screws with spacers which were in door. Read more

I ordered both hinges (if the nylon roller was bad on the left, it was probably going to go bad on the right side as well). The web site was easy to navigate, order process simple. Hinges arrived quickly. Slide the oven door up and off. unscrew the three screws for the hinge. You need to then pull up with some force (there is a big spring in there), and twist the hinge to get the last bit out. The previous tenant in my daughter's new apartment apparently had a grease fire of sorts in the GE XL44 gas oven. This left the insulating double glass panes so fouled up that one could not see into the oven. I removed the oven door (just lifts off the hinges) and proceeded to disassemble the door so as to get to the glass panes.
