I used a little too much 'elbow grease' trying to remove the knobs on my GE Stove trying to clean them. I thought they were metal, but they are plastic and I cracked the inside part on 3 of them. Found a real cool Youtube video by AppliancePartsPro.com. I watched it and learned how easy it was to unhook and replace the part with proper care and precautions. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. After removing the top rear access panel, I took as-built photographs of the two components to be replaced showing all wires, connectors and screws! The Energy Regulator for the front left burner was replaced first, noting the orientation before pulling off the knob, and removing the retaining screws. Checking for part replacement.....found your website.....I thought I had the right part, but called the tech/order line. Spoke to a very knowledgable tech, which she checked the stove serial # vs the part I thought I could use. The Tech advised that it WAS NOT and related the findings. Ordered everything from AppliancePartsPros.com and they were helpful, reliable and friendly in our interactions. Can't recommend them more for a vendor. First go get a ton of stainless steel sheet metal screws - about 20 phillips head and 20 nut driver. a drill with a phillips bit and a nutdriver bit and a zip tie and a phillips screw driver and a socket and an extension bit. Replaced element. The new element was perfect. The shipping was perfect. Installation would have taken less than 10 minutes if the two range wires attaching to element had been 1 inch longer. Attached thin nosed vice grips to wires at spade terminals to facilitate attachment to element. The repair was simple enough but it would have been perfect if GE engineers had made wires 1 inch longer. Read more
