I broke the ice bucket when the problem first started as I kept trying to get the ice out of the dispenser. I replaced the Icemaker Asembly in less than 5 minutes, 1 screw and that was that. Everything works great and my dispenser is back in action. I did have a repair man come out to correctly diagnose the issue as the parts were expensive and I wanted to make sure it was not a leak somewhere, but indeed the mechanism. My refrigerator was not dispensing ice. I could hear the motor activating but noticed the ice auger was not turning. My old drive shaft was stripped on both ends. Video was very helpful and it was an easy fix for someone with little handyman experience. Received my order much faster than expected! Ordered new ice maker ,,, losen 2,, 1/4" screws on ice maker mountingbracket,, you dont have to remove screws just losen ,,disconnect wiring harness from back of old ice maker.. Take new ice maker connect wiring harness ,,mount ice maker back on 2 screws then tighten . Read more

This was a two and half year issue as different things failed at different times. I would get one part, then another would fail. Ultimately, I got to a point where what failed, I hadn't been ordered the part yet. The seal on the freezer door took three bathing's before it plumped up and un-creased. I ordered a replacement ice maker and replaced the ice maker. it was really simple. one phillips head screw, a quick connect electrical connection, and a locking tab on the ice maker was all that it took to replace. Read more

Thawed out the ice-maker area and finally got the cracked bin removed. Took out the ice-maker assembly by pressing the side tabs and unplugging the connector. Found the ice tray was cracked, which caused the leaking and freezing issues. Called a local appliance parts store, but the ice-maker assembly and ice bin were over $500. The drive blade has come off of the drum and the auger. When I try to dispense ice and the auger rotates, the drive blade does not rotate with it. Hence, the drive blade was not pushing ice into the drum (and into the ice crusher housing and dispense chute). Apparently, the hole of the drive blade was no longer "biting" the auger so that it will rotate with it. I did not know how to re-attach the drive blade back to the auger (short of welding it). It was a snap. All I had to do was unsnap one end of where the ice tray attached to the ice maker and fit the tray into the two sides and then resnap the end back onto the icemaker. Very easy. Read more
