The amount of water being dispensed into the ice cube tray was excessive, causing overflow of the tray. The water then ran into the collection bin and even down the side walls of the freezer creating a huge block of ice in the bin, and ice all over the lower shelves as well. The excessive build up of ice caused the cube tray to crack and also split the little silicone water grommet that connects to the water delivery tube which directs water into the cube tray. Tl;dr: Watch the repair video FIRST. This will take you less than 15m if you do watch the video. You need to remove a door panel, you can't directly replace the icemaker. Even without doing that, it took me less than 30 minutes. 4 screws, a panel removal, a couple of computer-style power plugs, and you'll have ice again no problem. Stupid easy. The repair itself is pretty basic, remove broken parts and replace with new, but the process is much more challenging on the freezer door than on the fridge side since the water lines are routed through the hinge. After removing the top rear access panel, I took as-built photographs of the two components to be replaced showing all wires, connectors and screws! The Energy Regulator for the front left burner was replaced first, noting the orientation before pulling off the knob, and removing the retaining screws. The easiest repair I've ever done. I originally thought (after watching some youtube tutorials) I would need to replace the spring on the flap, but it is not accessible on our Samsung model. Undid the two screws holding the flap to the fridge door, pop it up off the other supports, and un-clip it from the power cord. Put the new flap on the same way and all done! First, I removed the old gaskets, which was a very easy task since they are held in the doors by rubber beads in recessed slots. I installed the new right door gasket in less than 10 minutes by gradually pushing the retainer bead into the door recessed slot with finger pressure until it was seated properly. Replaced all 3 gaskets with gaskets from appliancepartspros.com. Gaskets took less than 10 minutes to replace and fit perfect! I checked the refrigerator and freezer compartments approx 6 hrs later and found the compartments to be a few degrees colder. Freezer ice was cold and loose, not stuck together.
