When I received the speed control plate it had nuts on the upper screws with springs, since my old one didn't have nuts I assumed that the nuts were to keep the springs on until installed. Oven is a slide in. I pulled it out just a Few inches and removed 8 screws and Pulled the face down to expose the unit. The control unit had 4 screws and 4 Plugins. It only took me less than 10 Minutes to replace unit and slide back In place. Read more

I don’t think I needed the capacitor and relay, but while I was at it I figured I would. Originally we found we had an issue when water cane out of the ice maker. The freezer was hovering around freezing and the refrigerator was about 33 deg. I unplugged the refrigerator and it came back on and ran about a day. The next night, same thing. • Freezer not defrosting

I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it. I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat. You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. On-line chat with AppliancePartsPros told me the error code was was for motor speed and they sent me a .pdf file on what to do to T/S it. Following the sheet I checked motor and Tack resistance and wiring - all OK, so I ordered a Motor Controller Ckt board assy. It arrived in 24 hours, during that time i watched the replacement videos and removed the old part. I replaced the ice door motor with new hardware, circuit board on touch panel display then the main ECB on top in the doghouse. It finally came to life and started working! No issues with the front panel and everything works as it did! Read more
