Started out as a replacement of the coupling between the motor and the basket transmission ( 2 of the 3 legs on the transmission side broken.. )... Bought a new pump, since I would have it off... or so I thought.. Metal output shaft into pump + years of moisture = pump rusted on. Put it all back together - runs fine... for a while.. Went on internet, found a great site and learned that the cold water hose filter was very much clogged at the machine intake. Cleaned it and voila. Ordered an extra filter from Appliance Pros.com and literally was amazed that it arrive within 2 days of my internet order. Great efficiency and customer service….great experience. Removed cover from Whirlpool washer (~20 years old) and found water to be leaking from hose connection at Break Vac. Obviously the hose had to be replaced but the Break Vac looked corroded and partially plugged, too, possibly inhibiting water flow. While the cabinet was off I noticed the Suspension Spring was rusted off so I ordered 1 of those, too. Remove the 3 screws from the back of the top cover Pull backward about 2 inches and lift the top off Reach in and disconnect the the door latch wiring Remove the 2 screws that hold the latch to the door frame Pop the latch loose from the plastic holder on the right side by pushing it forward Replace the switch with the new one and repeat each step in reverse Read more

I removed the drum, split it in half and replaced the bearings, seal and tub o-ring. Whirlpool did not offer the bearings without purchasing the back half of the tub for $350.00. I purchased a kit with a new seal for $75.00 and replaced them myself. Read more

Replaced the handle with the new on. Had to remove 3 screws to get the front assembly loose from the drawer and then 5 more screws to remove the handle from the metal front. Replacement was reverse process. Read more

Maytag Bravos Washer, Model #MVWX550XW1 My washer was emitting a loud noise - I describe it as a loud whining noise - while filling with water. I originally thought it to be my capacitor. But after installing the new one my machine still wouldn't wash, upon further inspection the hose that connects to the water level indicator on the control panel had popped a loose. I reconnected it and my washer is working just fine now. So try and do a complete inspection before spending unnecessary money ($125) like I did. Read more
