Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You My son advised that my Amana LG3412W suddenly developed the "no heat" syndrome   William S. • Tulsa , OK • September 11, 2018

After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over: 1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in... Tipped the dishwasher on to its front, loosened the drain hose clamp and pulled the hose off. Then unscrew the fill hose which looks like a garden hose adapter. Cut the zip tie on the drain hose and take note of how both hoses are routed, then pull both hoses out the back of the dishwasher. Insert new hoses and route them correctly and hook everything back up. Couple of notes, I didn't have to take off the outer cabinet to do this repair. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You F01/e01 error code front load whirlpool duet washer   Hilary L. • Winslow , ME • October 05, 2014

Once top of washer is removed, there is a troubleshooting guide taped to the underside of the washer top. It verified the problem was the CCU (electronic control board). Before removing old CCU, have a plan for labeling the connecting wires; with tape & marker and a sketched diagram, because nothing is labeled and there are many wires. You need to slide the old CCU about 1 inch to the right in order to remove it. Looking at the new one will give you an idea of how the tabs fit into the washer... Read more

18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. I took the front panel off and carefully listened while I ran a cycle and the loud sound sounded like it was coming from the drain pump. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Catastrophic failure of the dryer cycling thermostat in a maytag neptune super stack   Richard M. • Cornish , NH • October 19, 2020

Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. The thermostat literally exploded into chunks and dust. There was a heavy arcing and then, thankfully, the thermal fuse blew and shut down power to the short... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Worn out contact in the timer not allowing it to spin/   Norman W. • Bismarck , ND • May 18, 2020

The washer would work fine except it wouldn't spin unless you opened the lid and waited a split second for it to stop. You would hear a bang, then when you closed the lid, it would spin. Since it made that bang noise, I thought the transmission was going bad, so I replaced that. Nope, still the same. So, after a little more research, I found out that the motor has to come to a complete stop for the transmission to go into spin mode. After pulling out the timer and inspecting it, I noticed...
