Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. • No heat or not enough heat

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. Viewed the replacement video on the appliancepartspros.com repair process to see how complicated the repair was. Replacement part ordered but took a full 7 days to cross 2 states?? Replacement part was authentic replacement and was installed in about 15 minutes. One thing that was not mentioned in the video...make sure the water spout in routed correctly into the ice maker. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. Checked the circuit board to see if R11 was burnt and it was. They told me if the wax motor had a brown tip that I would have to replace the Machine control circuit board as well as the Wax motor. I ordered the new parts put them in and it worked. Read more

I first wanted to get the dishwasher running, before ordering the spring links. So I disassembled the pump / motor assembly to determine the reason the motor would not start. My wife cleaned all of the parts in the pump assembly. I took the motor apart and discovered that the lower bearing ( a sleeve type bearing) was dry and dirty, and was the culprit for the motor seizing. I cleaned up the bearing and lubricated it with SAE 20W. I also packed felt inside the cavity adjacent to the bearing.... Read more

First had to clean inside the empty freezer, that was the hard part. removed old gasket and cleaned inside the track in the door. had the new gasket well warmed and in the right shape. put new gasket in track. seating it firmly. It was very easy. I did watch a couple of online videos to get the general idea of what it detailed. Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes. Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short.
