Viewed the replacement video on the appliancepartspros.com repair process to see how complicated the repair was. Replacement part ordered but took a full 7 days to cross 2 states?? Replacement part was authentic replacement and was installed in about 15 minutes. One thing that was not mentioned in the video...make sure the water spout in routed correctly into the ice maker. Checked the circuit board to see if R11 was burnt and it was. They told me if the wax motor had a brown tip that I would have to replace the Machine control circuit board as well as the Wax motor. I ordered the new parts put them in and it worked. Read more

• Takes too long to dry

Ordered a new clip and installed it. Easy to do. Unplugged the dryer. Removed the front. It is only held on by two screws. Removed wires to the door switch. removed the female end (it had the broken male piece in it. Inserted the new female part in the front, clipped in the male part into the door and reconnected the door switch wires, screwed the front back on. Job done. Total time was less than 10 minutes. These drip pans fit! I had bought some from a local big box store and they didn't fit. I only wish they still made them without the holes in the bottom of the drip pan. Had to take the back cover off. It was very tight to remove the fan that sat in the drip pan but did get it off, was able to apply the same level of cursing and got the new pan installed, installing the drain tube was a breeze. Found the parts price very reasonable. Hoping the Whirlpool redesigned the pan so I won't have to do it ever again. I was surprised at how bad the quality of their original part was. I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. First had to clean inside the empty freezer, that was the hard part. removed old gasket and cleaned inside the track in the door. had the new gasket well warmed and in the right shape. put new gasket in track. seating it firmly. It was very easy. I did watch a couple of online videos to get the general idea of what it detailed. Replace burner and receptacle. The product arrived promptly after order and the receptacle came in a factory Whirlpool bag, indicating it was a genuine Whirlpool part.
