The ridges inside the agitator base were stripped. Installed a new base - after a good cleaning of build-up on the spindle. Works like new! Read more

I had previously replaced the pump about 1 year ago. That was not the problem. Still leaked the same way - intermittently, but always in the center of the washer onto the floor. 18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. After discovering your web site and reading of others issues I ordered a door seal (my old one was a little short on the right side) a detergent door grommet, and the 2 water deflectors ( I decided to cover all the bases while I was at it. Replaced capacitor and starting relay on the compressor in 15 minutes. The problem may have just been the capacitor, but rather than trying that and if it didn't solve the problem i would have had wait for the relay. Read more

This Maytag dryer was bought in 1985 if memory serves. It has worked hard with few repairs done by yours truly over the years. Thanks to the engineering and excellent design by Maytag staff, removing parts are relatively easy. Once I opened the unit, I found it to be full of lint. I purchased the lid latch assembly and the lid switch strike. Following the clear video instructions for each part, my handy teenage son was able to remove the lid latch assembly and replace it with the new part as well as the lid switch strike. The washer is back to working perfectly for under $100. Appliance Parts Pros carry the parts to repair and at a lower cost than other online retailers.
