This was some repair! My SG1000 stackable is over 30 years old and was purchased second hand. I bought the $6.00 plastic clip that holds the agitator In place while washing and the $10.50 spanner wrench that takes the 2 top nuts off to get to the agitator stem the other tools necessary for the job which are just a couple of things I already had then watched the video on line of how to do the job and then did it the whole thing took about 2 hours plus I took my time and gave both tubs a very good cleaning. Found the wonderful parts diagrams you most generously share online and a couple of YouTube videos . I determined it should be repairable. In my cast the agitator shaft was frozen (rusted) in place. I was very fortunate to have been able to eventually remove it with the use of a lot of BP penetrating oil and heat. I have a 25 year old Kenmore washer that works well and didn't want to get a new washer as they don't make them like they used to. Upon removing the top cap of the agitator and doing an inspection, the agitator dogs were completely broken into pieces. Due to age we decided to replace the lower and upper agitator along with the agitator auger dogs repair kit. All new parts and works fine. I ordered all parts of the agitator top, matchup was exactly the same and replaced them quickly. Read more

Simple by using 7/16 socket with long extension to remove the bolt and pull the whole agitator out and clean them. Put back in together with new parts. It works fine now. Read more
