Cooktop Fuse Or Sensor

Replaced open circuit thermistor at back of unit to restore power to stove. Replaced thermal fuse behind control panel due to high resistance in original one. Stove now operational. Read more

Tested the High Voltage Capacitor which showing no capacitance and no resistance. Replaced it together with the diode and the line fuse no longer blew and the microwave is back in service. Read more

I read up on others with this problem of microwave-wall oven combination Whirlpool Gold. We live in a very rural area and were not able to get ANYONE to service it - had 2 companies come out to inspect but they never returned. I have wonderful news! My daughter that she turned timer on but hit cook with nothing in the microwave. I was able to figure it was one of the four thermal cutoffs. It was obvious which one literally fried. Not sure which fuse might be bad, I ordered all three. The oven is almost twenty years old, so I figured it couldn't hurt to replace them all. The breakers marked oven were tripped, so we figured everything was off. Wrong! The 220 and the 120 are separate breakers. We found this out the old fashioned way, we got shocked. Immediately unplugged the gas range, turned off the gas, removed the range and disassembled it. Obviously the harness that controls the gas was damaged so I did a Buick google search and found all of the parts I would need on here. Placed the order and fixed my range 2 days later. Read more
