Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer heating for only a short time then no heat at all   David N. • Fairfax , CA • December 08, 2018

GE Gas Dryer Model DBVH512GF1WW began to heat for only a short amount of time so drying clothes took WAY too long. Read online that the first thing to replace are the solenoids. Bought the two solenoids from AppliancePartsPros.com for about $50 total, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Had to watch a few videos to learn to disassemble the dryer, and the job took a couple of hours, but now that I know what I'm doing it could be done in less than 30 minutes. Also, the old solenoids tested... Read more

Dryer High Limit Thermostat
Genuine Frigidaire part
By: Frigidaire
Part Number: 137116700

This high limit thermostat is a safety device that monitors the temperature inside the dryer and cuts power to the heating element if the temperature exceeds a safe threshold. It is typically mounted on the heating element housing or exhaust duct. Replace this thermostat if the dryer is not heating at all or if it overheats - a tripped high limit thermostat often indicates a clogged vent or restricted airflow that should also be addressed.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Frigidaire dryer error e66 then door open   Nolan R. • Hoboken , NJ • February 06, 2017

My Electrolux Frigidaire Gas Dryer stopped working and I got an error code E66 that the thermal limiter blew from over heating. The E66 code stops displaying after the initial code and you will then get a door open message. I replaced the thermal limiter and the thermostat just to be sure which part at the problem. The job is hard because you have to take apart the entire dryer and remove the drum. Would be a tough project to complete on your own. Read more

Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You No heat in gas dryer   Peter S. • Glenview , IL • April 23, 2024

The very detailed and product specific video showed me how to disassemble the dryer. The thermostat, cycling thermostat, high limit, flame detector, igniter, gas valve coils and timer all showed correct continuity or resistance. I thought it might be the gas valve itself, but felt that wasn't likely so I decided to go ahead and replace the thermostats and limit switch since... Read more
