For about the last month or so the clothes (especially sheets) would just roll into a ball (like a big sausage) the wouldn't dry. Kept readjusting the clothes. I went on the internet to see what the issue could be and found lots of advise about shaking out the sheet and clothes first, using tennis balls, and using fuller or smaller loads. None of that worked. But I finally figured out that the reason they roll into a ball is because the belt around the drum is slipping or stretched. This... Read more

After verifying the no heat problem myself, I just googled "LG3412W no heat" with my smartphone and thumb. One of the first hits was the Appliance Parts Pros website with a list of 8 possible parts that might fix this problem, listed in descending order of likelihood of success. With 3 adults worth of dirty laundry piling up and straining our ability to drip dry, I had to agonize over: 1) buying a new dryer from whatever a local dealer had in stock, then clearing years of valuable junk in... This dryer drum belt wraps around the drum and pulleys to spin clothes. Replace if stretched, cracked, or broken to restore tumbling. Confirm fit by model.
I took the dryer apart. (You Tube video). The issue was a portion of the tension belt pulley wheel had broken off. The drum belt which wraps around the drum and the pulley would make the drum spin off balance, hence making the pounding noise. 1) I changed the belt because the dryer is 10+ years old & it had many cracks. 2) I changed the belt tensioner. 3) I changed the LED light. Front drum felt seal prevents clothes from catching between the drum and dryer interior. Replace if worn or damaged. Confirm fit with your model number.
Took the whole dryer apart to access the wheels (4) of them, belt and fan wheel, also had to clean all the lint out that somehow builds up inside the dryer. Plus cleaned out dryer duct vent, added to the time involved. If you are planning on fixing the dryer because of a noise which was in my case, I highly recommend buy all the parts for complete maintenance mentioned above. What helped save me time? I watch a dryer fan wheel replacement training video first, highly recommend this!... Read more
Replacement door hinge for dryers. Secures and aligns the door to the cabinet. Replace if cracked, broken, sagging, or causing door misalignment.
I ordered the hinge on the weekend and it came on Tuesday in the late Morning. I loved how quick it arrived. The swap out of the part took 10 minutes using a batter powered driver, a #2 Phillips tip and a T-25 tip. If you use hand tools, it will take a few minutes longer. If I would have realized how easy it was, I would have replaced it when it started sagging instead of waiting for it to break. Read more

Replace your dryer drum belt when clothes stop tumbling or you hear squealing. This 79-1/8" belt wraps around the drum and motor to rotate clothes evenly.
I used the web site to figure out the most likely causes for the drum not turning. I watched the web site's videos to see what I would have to do and thought it wasn't too bad; something a rookie could do. Ordered the parts (belt and idler arm) and followed the directions from the videos. Mostly a bunch of screws/bolts to remove with a couple in difficult places. (my dryer isn't full sized) There were some electrical connections to take apart. As i disassembled it, I took pictures of where... Read more
Converting your dryer from natural gas to propane? This LP conversion kit includes all orifices needed for safe fuel changeover. Model-specific fit.
If your dryer won't stay lit or shuts off after a few minutes, the gas limiter may be faulty. This regulator controls safe gas flow to the burner.
Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Dryer won't start or heat? A blown thermal fuse cuts all power to protect against overheating. Easy 30-minute DIY fix with multimeter testing.
Through 15 years of vibration, the Cycling Thermostat evidently had degraded to the point where one electrical connection or more came loose and caused a short. There is also a possibility that the Bakelite section of the Dryer Cycling Thermostat body separated from the metal base, simultaneously exposing all four connections to a short. The thermostat literally exploded into chunks and dust. There was a heavy arcing and then, thankfully, the thermal fuse blew and shut down power to the short... Read more
Traps lint and debris during drying to prevent vent clogs and maintain airflow. Replace when damaged, torn, or has holes. Verify fit with your model.
The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you!
