If your washer won't start or the lid won't unlock, the lid lock switch may have failed. This DIY repair typically takes 10-15 minutes with basic tools.
1) Ordered part. 2) Removed front panel by loosening the two screws at the bottom front. 3) Removed old Safety Switch/Lid Lock by disconnecting wires (plug and 2 female disconnects) 4) Reconnected all wires and reinstalled switch. 5) Replaced front panel. 6) Tested Unit. 7) FYI - I found that the locking mechanism stays locked until cycle completely finishes on its own. DO NOT force the cycle to end. Lid will NOT unlock. Read more

We got the heater core kit. Unplug, undo two screws and pulled old one out. Looking at the old one, put the new one together and then mounted it back in place. Turned on dryer but no heat so unplugged it, tapped on elements, plugged back in and it worked. Not to hard. Read more

I replaced the idler pulley assembly, the bearing plastic and the drive belt. While disassembled I cleaned the interior of the cabinet and lubricated the drum bearings with silicone after cleaning everything thoroughly. The dryer is now quiet and hopefully stays that way. Read more

Downloaded the Frigidaire Service Manual for Electric 5.8 cubic foot dryer from the ApplicanePartsPro.com forum. Used its information to check for error codes. None display. There is no good diagram explaining how exactly these fit in. I had to do trial and error. The parts are quite delicate so I actually broke one trying to get it in. The Blower Wheel is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dryers. It is responsible for circulating air during the drying cycle, directing airflow through lint and clothes to remove moisture. The plastic blades of the blower wheel push air through the dryer and out the vent when the motor is running.
