I've never attempted to repair an appliance myself before, but I seen it was really bothering my wife because it was a Sunday with a holiday on Monday. So I pulled the dryer out and looked at the back and seen it was only six screws to take the top off the back. Then it was only two wires attached to the starter button. Replaced faulty rack switch. to do this I had to do the following: 1. Turn off power and gas. 2. Pull out range. 3. Removed a zillion screws on the left cover plate and heat shields. 4. Removed rack switch retaining screw inside oven. 5. Unplugged existing switch and confirmed bad (no continuity). 6. Installed new switch. 7. reverse order steps to complete. Read more
