Removed complete housing, including the actuator to dispense ice; plastic cemented, with reinforcing strips of cloth to reinforce repair on left hand side of assembly. Then installed new actuator part from Appliance Parts, plugged in wires, then had to plastic cement the pack on back of the new actuator back on, as it had come loose. Reassembled all, and finally managed to get the water discharge tube back through the hole, than replaced the flat strip connector & replaced all screws. Works... Read more

Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more

Everything was easy to replace. Did it all by hand except the access cover that needed a socket wrench. The door didn't close that well at first. I had to wait a couple of days for the rubber pieces to fit into the door frame. Read more

Replaced evaporator heater and housing. Just make sure you also replace the thermostat. If not it is a little challenging to get the wires out of the old thermostat/ heater plug into the new plug. Also if you have the same problem be prepared to have a good heat gun to melt the ice buildup around the evaporator and drain hole. The ice build up was so bad that it destroyed the evaporator cover and was leaking into the refrigerator or should I say ice was forming below the evaporator cover... Read more

I wasn’t sure where I could get parts for the fridge, Google brought me here. Super easy to look up model #’s and locate parts by type/location with the appliance map. I needed to change the racks and the doorstop. The racks were super simple. It was really easy. I found the part number using an online search, ordered the shelf and just inserted the ends into the holes in the freezer walls. Fortunately, I read on a question and answer forum that four end caps were also required. This detail was not listed in the shelf description so knowing this, I was able to order the caps along with the shelf and avoid having to place a second order once I got the shelf and discovered that I needed the end caps. I ordered a refrigerator door hinge, hinge pin, and washer. The descriptions and pictures imply that these items are sold separately. However, the hinge I received was an assembly that included a pin and washer. I replaced the original hinge assembly with the new assembly, but the door still sagged (not as badly as before). Bought OEM replacement part. The new part had all the retaining clips that had broken off of old part. Needed new stick-on label to dress up the replacement shroud. Hardest part of the repair was disconnecting the wired module on back of old shroud. Feared I might snap off those retaining clips, too!
