This capacitor helps start and run the refrigerator's compressor and/or fan motors so the appliance cools reliably. Replaces a worn or failed capacitor to restore normal motor operation and reduce hard-starting. What it does:
Air circulation (blower) fan would not come on reliably. Had a hard time getting up to speed and sometimes would not even run. This capacitor fixed that problem, fan comes on quickly like it was when new. This is a 25,000 BTU room air conditioner, I didn't want to replace it with another one for about $700 especially since it is only 3 years old. I spent under $40 to fix it. Read more
This is a rotary or push-type selector switch that controls the water temperature setting on the washer's control panel. It routes electrical signals to the water inlet valve to select hot, warm, or cold wash and rinse cycles. Replace this switch if the washer fills with the wrong water temperature, does not respond to temperature selections, or only fills with cold or hot water regardless of the setting.
If your washer won't advance cycles or overfills, the pressure switch likely failed. This DIY repair restores water level sensing in 15-30 minutes.
First I unplugged the power cord for the washer. I removed the back plate of the control panel. Then removed the knob and unscrewed the screw holding the broken pressure switch. I then swapped the three electrical cables one at a time and placed on the new pressure switch. Then I put the screw in to hold the switch in place. I replaced the knob, plugged in the washer and turned it on. The appliance immediately worked. Read more
