The Oven Broil Kit is an OEM part for GE ovens. It includes the broil element, which is responsible for generating high heat from the top of the oven to broil food. The broil element, which has screw-on terminals, measures 11-3/8" wide and 15-5/8" long from the mounting bracket to the end of the element. The distance from the bracket to the terminal end is 1-5/8".
You should replace this broil kit if it fails to heat properly. Causes of a bad broil kit can include electrical faults, such as short circuits or open circuits in the element, physical damage from accidental impact, or wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a bad broil kit include:
- The broil element not heating up
- Uneven broiling results
- Visible damage or burns on the element
- The oven tripping the circuit breaker when broil mode is activated
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
