Condenser fan motor sounded like a dying animal. Ordered a new motor, fan blade and grommets. The fridge sounds so much better, it's hard to tell it's on. Took 20 minutes, most of it cleaning. Read more

Pulled down the existing drain tube and installed new one. Tight area so it requires two hands to push up and attach the new tube. The short rubber tubing attached to the new drain tube has to fit snug onto the plastic tube connection that hangs down. I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. Replaced above parts, easy to do, looks like a new stove. Needed to pry open knob stem slot segments very slightly to remove broken plastic from previous knobs. Spreading stem slot metal sides too much and they will break. With slots cleaned out, pinch stem sides almost together for new knobs to slide on. Only two screws hold the mount of the pump in the lower left near the floor. Easy access by removing the front covers then remove the two mounting screws to the pump assy. Then remove the intake and output hoses. I noticed on the new pump a male hose bib on the intake. Supplied with the dishwasher was the smooth intake water tube. Best to not reuse this supplied hose. It just won't clamp tight enough for a good seal. Cut a portion from a garden hose the same size as the intake valve bib... Read more

This is a 15 yr old Kenmore (GE) refrigerator with top mounted freezer... I knew, for awhile, that I had a DEFROST problem. That was causing water to collect on the inside bottom of the fridge, under the veg./fruit bins. And then occasionally run out onto the kitchen floor if I didn't sop up the water inside. I thought initially it was a hose because it was leaking water from the bottom. On the small and medium load it didn't leak. I watched it on the large setting and noticed the water didn't shut off initially so therefore it was over filling. I ordered a switch pressure switch from Appliance Parts Pros and received it in two days. I replaced the switch, put the washer together and now it works like new. I checked the freezer and found the door gasket was damaged. When the parts arrived, I checked them for a good fit and the attachment method. Due to past experience of replacing door gaskets, I was expecting a lot of screws that would have to be removed and replaced. To my surprise, the gaskets pressed in place without tools and had a good and secure fit. Replaced sump and related pieces. Also replaced door baffles that were getting bad. The hardest part of job was removing the dishwasher from the its spot in cabinets. The info on site made replacing parts easy. Read more

In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. It states "just stick a screw driver into the base spray arm from inside the tub and turn", that does not work. Their are 2 tabs that in gauge the base spray arm with the tub. A 4 prong round wrench is required to insert from the bottom into the pump connector and turn the nut that sits inside. Read more
