Pulled dishwasher from the cabinet and flipped onto its side. Easy access to sump and drain flapper valve that I also replaced. Rubber sump coming apart into soft pills & chunks and plugging spray arms. Better now but it's rediculous that GE would make components that dissolve this way. Read more

Only two screws hold the mount of the pump in the lower left near the floor. Easy access by removing the front covers then remove the two mounting screws to the pump assy. Then remove the intake and output hoses. I noticed on the new pump a male hose bib on the intake. Supplied with the dishwasher was the smooth intake water tube. Best to not reuse this supplied hose. Realizing that there could be multiple reasons for a gas dryer failing to heat, I decided to test everything I could. I had found that the fan in the freezer was making a lot of noise. Turns out the shaft was loose, causing the flan blade to wobble. Replaced the motor and fan and now it runs like a new unit. Read more

Pulled down the existing drain tube and installed new one. Tight area so it requires two hands to push up and attach the new tube. The short rubber tubing attached to the new drain tube has to fit snug onto the plastic tube connection that hangs down. Researched on internet how to fix and came up with this part and the overload relay which I had to buy so only spent about $43.00 and it was very easy to replace these parts on my fridge . • Timer will not advance

Replaced above parts, easy to do, looks like a new stove. Needed to pry open knob stem slot segments very slightly to remove broken plastic from previous knobs. Spreading stem slot metal sides too much and they will break. With slots cleaned out, pinch stem sides almost together for new knobs to slide on. I thought initially it was a hose because it was leaking water from the bottom. On the small and medium load it didn't leak. I watched it on the large setting and noticed the water didn't shut off initially so therefore it was over filling. I ordered a switch pressure switch from Appliance Parts Pros and received it in two days. I replaced the switch, put the washer together and now it works like new. Heater defroster part number AP5982425. I have GE model GTE16DTHCRBB. I found a Youtube video of a repair of a similar model. Getting the heater defroster out was not a piece of cake because you can not see the mounting due to it being behind the coils, same is true for reinstalling the new. There is a strap on top of the heater defroster that has to be connected to the heater defroster before being reinstalled. I checked the freezer and found the door gasket was damaged. When the parts arrived, I checked them for a good fit and the attachment method. Due to past experience of replacing door gaskets, I was expecting a lot of screws that would have to be removed and replaced. To my surprise, the gaskets pressed in place without tools and had a good and secure fit.
