I replaced both the element and the switch. It was a relatively easy fix, although I needed a second set of hands to hold the stovetop upright while I did the replacement. The entire job took about 45-60 minutes. Read more

A few weeks back, when shutting off a burner, the igniter started sparking and wouldn't stop. Working the knobs and jiggling them got it to stop. Fast forward a few weeks. Finish cooking, go sit down to eat. Hear snapping noise, go look, see burners are all off and the igniters are all sparking. Jiggle the knobs. Poof! Flames come out the top one! What a stink. I changed out the white burners for black ones which will be easier to clean. This is a simple matter of removing two screws on each burner. The one igniter switch turned out to be okay, but was not fully seated on the valve shaft. As to lighting off issues, the new burners helped, but the most improvement came from removing the burners and cleaning the orifices that supply gas to the burner tubes with a bit of fine wire. Removed rocker switch,made up jumper so the compactor could be used while awaiting replacement switch. The part came 2 days later and was installed in less tha 5 minutes. Unit working like new again. Thanks for the great service!! Read more

Replaced shorted wire and blown switches. Read more

Replaced igniter under each burner knob. Used needle nose pliers to remove the electrical connections (2) of the igniter then slipped it off the gas valve shaft. Replaced with new igniter (click in place) and replaced electrical connectors. Took about 15 minutes to complete. Read more

I replaced the burner switches, since we had been having trouble with specific burners igniting unless another burner was tuned on. Then I replaced the spark module since the flame and the burner being turned off were not being detected and burners would not re-light if the flame went out. Read more

This replacement part looks nothing like the original because the original is two parts, the replacement is one part. The original has a switch with 3 wires coming out of it that go into a "block" screwed to the bottom tray. And this "block" has 2 wires that come out of it going to the fan. With the replacement, the block is eliminated and the 2 wires go directly to the switch. Easy install. Read more
