After watching the how to video twice I decided to embark on dismantling my dryer and attempting to replace my motor. After realizing that the main tool needed was a Phillips screwdriver I was sure I could handle this repair. One by one I took apart the dryer and spread out the parts throughout my mud room. 1.5 hrs later and I have a working dryer, and most of all a happy wife. I bought the listed condenser fan motor for my Maytag refrigerator. Access to the condenser fan is by removing sheet metal screws of bottom panel with 1/4 in. nut driver. Condenser fan is on left side of rear access area. Remove electrical connector by pressing-in connector release tab with thumb fingernail and pulling on connector. My KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling, but the freezer was working perfectly. The repair went well. Never made this type of repair before. Took me around 90 minutes to complete. The worst part was winging it on how to disassemble the bottom drawers. On my Kenmore Elite, it has three freezer compartment sliding trays. The other difficult part for me was removing the clipped in part on the back of the freezer panel. First, I did online research to find out what could be the problem with these symptoms of cold freezer and warm fridge. I found multiple posts with people going back and forth as far as what to do to fix it. One tread even provided the link to your store with the part number for the evaporator fan motor. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. I used the internet and checked a dry fuse, and it tested ok. Checked the start switch, ok. So it had to be the motor. Sharon at the company agreed. Motor, and belt arrive very fast. ordered the belt because, if I had it apart why not change it. Internet also helped get the dryer apart. Unplugged power cord, shut off hot and cold water valves, and disconnected hot and cold water lines. I taped the lid closed and laid washer down on its front panel to access motor parts underneath. Removed center screw (allen wrench) and then removed large, round, plastic rotor (had to use some force with fingers behind it to get it off). I could see that the gear teeth inside the rotor had been partially stripped off ruining the rotor (and causing the noise). I then removed the clutch... Read more

After checking the suggested fixes and parts on Appliance Parts Pros, I ordered the defrost thermostat and evap motor for my refrigerator, a Kitchen Aid KSSC42QTS00. Installation was very easy, simply emptying the freezer and removing the access panel in the back bottom half. Upon getting everything open, I found out that the existing evap motor was working fine, so I didn't install that part. I did install the defrost thermometer, which was a 5-minute process. Once I purchased the correct motor it literally took less that 10 minutes from start to finish to replace the motor. After unplugging the refrigerator, I unscrewed two machine screws to remove the cover and unscrewed two machine screws to remove the motor. I removed the old motor from the housing, installed the new motor, reattached the motor to the refrigerator, replaced the cover, and plugged in the refrigerator. Installation was quick and simple.
