Unplug fridge. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the single screw underneath the display. Also under the ledge you will see two slots - one on each side of the forward part of the ledge. Insert a flat-head screw driver and twist (either way) to release the plastic tabs. Once the tabs release you can pull the whole thing loose. I viewed the self help video on You Tube and checked the water pressure first. Once the water pressure was determined to be fine I ordered a new water inlet valve as recommended from the video. LG supplier did not have the recommended part and after checking on-line I found Appliance Parts Pros had just what I needed. The video from Appliance Plus Pros showed step by step on how to replace the water inlet valve. It took me approximately 15 minutes to remove the old one and install the new one.... Read more

Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. The new gasket arrived in a box half the size of the gasket so the gasket was folded to fit into the box. I hung the new gasket up for a couple of hours and then just prior to installation used a hair dryer as per included instructions to soften the gasket and minimize minor wrinkles in the gasket. The old gasket came out easily and the new went in easily. A 5 minute job in total. Read more
