Kitchenaid Refrigerator Ice Maker Drive Coupling
Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: WP2220458

Fix ice not dispensing or auger not turning issues. This coupler connects the motor to the ice bin auger. DIY-friendly repair, about 20 minutes.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice dispenser was skipping so not dispensing ice   Del H. • Midlothian , TX • September 03, 2018

The problem was that the motor coupler & shaft had a tiny bit of rust at their union. With the weight of the ice bin it rusted in the lowest position. I first read some threads on the topic and figured out it was probably the ice maker. I found the part cheaper somewhere else but if it wasn't the problem I couldn't return it. I figured it was worth a little extra money to be able to return it if I was wrong and it was something else. I ordered the part watched the tutorial on YouTube , and replaced it. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice forming in the ice cube bin   Bill J. • Scottsdale , AZ • December 13, 2014

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Although the problem started off small, it gradually grew much worse, and finally I could see water dripping out of the ice mold and into the bin during the fill cycle. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Ice maker would not dispense ice   Eddie J. • Phenix City , AL • August 02, 2021

I replaced the auger motor. You have to remove complete ice maker. Everything is just like help video to do except yoke dispenser. I watched video several times. Yoke will not just tap loose, after 30 minutes of tapping, I was using screwdriver to brace. I used a Dremel tool to cut part of shaft, came off easy then. After that, the repair went great. I have ice, I noticed motor I received was stronger. Parts came on time stated and worked great. I will order again on other repairs. Read more
