Kitchenaid Refrigerator Parts

The cooling coils were iced-up. The ice was blocking air flow to the refrigerator. This resulted in the freezer working fine while the refrigerator was warm. Called AppliancePartsPros and talked to Sally. Sally was a big help in troubleshooting the problem. I ordered and replaced the cooling coil heater. Refrigerator was not cooling, but was continuously runing & freezer compartment was extremely cold. Determined that fan assembly that takes freezer air & circulates to the refrigerator didn't seem to be working. Determined that the fan assembly motor was not rotating. Easily found replacement on AppliancePartsPro.com. Received the part quickly (Impressive delivery time!). Unplugged refrigerator, then easily removed to rear cover inside the freezer section by removing hex head screws.... Read more

I don’t think I needed the capacitor and relay, but while I was at it I figured I would. Originally we found we had an issue when water cane out of the ice maker. The freezer was hovering around freezing and the refrigerator was about 33 deg. I unplugged the refrigerator and it came back on and ran about a day. The next night, same thing. Used Google to troubleshoot the issue. Inside the freezer I took the back off. Noticed two things. The evaporator motor was not turning and the top half of the coils were frozen over. Obvious fan not spinning issue. I felt the motor and it was hot. Spun the fan it it started spinning. Put it all back together. Ran OK for 5-6 more days then same issue. Replace the thermostat kit. Watched a video on youtube and followed directions! So EASY!! Paid a repairman $250+ to replace the thermostat a couple of years ago. BTW - This repair was made by a woman - who says only guys can fix things!!! Read more

• Freezer not defrosting

I had had the same problem 4 or 5 years ago and spent close to $200 to repair it. I did have the slip from that repair with part #'s so I went ahead and ordered a defrost timer and thermostat. You-tube had plenty of videos on replacing those parts and even before they arrived I was able to add a switch and bypass the broken thermostat and start a cycle manually with the timer. Went on internet, found a great site and learned that the cold water hose filter was very much clogged at the machine intake. Cleaned it and voila. Ordered an extra filter from Appliance Pros.com and literally was amazed that it arrive within 2 days of my internet order. Great efficiency and customer service….great experience. After watching a few videos on this site and on You Tube it seemed like the most likely culprits were the starter and the capacitor. I found them easily behind the back panel near the compressor and easily unplugged them. I found the part numbers on this site and ordered them. After a 5 minute installation the compressor came back to life, and my 10 year old refrigerator has a new lease on life. Read more
