Maytag Gasket & Seal

I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. I then spoke to a local repair guy and he said that I was on the right track on replacing those parts first. The price he gave me were pretty high on the parts. I purchased a freezer gasket + key// from appliancepartspros.com //easy to order. I did not need to lock up my freezer but thought it might help the gasket seat (good thought). Pulled out old parts, and swapped with new. New seals needed to be warmed up with a hair dryer to get wrinkles out from shipping, but that was simple as well. With my fridge, there was also a secondary piece on the door which needed to be removed with a screw. Took some extra time to give all those surfaces on the fridge a much needed cleaning while the seals were off. New seals fit perfectly and the replacement was simple- video provided on the website was also helpful. Read more

With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this.
