One day it didn't heat up for baking Matthew M. • Greensboro , NC • July 01, 2017
Watched the video here, took the leap that burner was the problem and ordered it. Also found another vid on you tube that was more specific to my Kenmore. Tip: find out how to take off the oven door. For mine it was very easy but not detailed in the APP vid.
I followed instructions in APP vid but also first took off back panel of range and tested resistance of old burner to ensure that was truly the problem (as suggested by other YT vid). Also, dis/connecting the wires from the back is easier...

Oven won't light even with glowing igniter? Safety valve controls gas flow to burner. Moderately easy repair with gas line disconnect required.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Gas would not flow; oven would not start Stan G. • Hancock , NY • March 09, 2017
My tenant thought that the oven safety valve was bad, but after some research, I found that the transfer of heat from the igniter had to be sufficient enough to cause the valve to open.Your agent confirmed this and reassured me that even if the igniter was glowing, there was a 99% chance that it wasn't getting hot enough. I ordered the igniter, and also the safety valve just in case, as we were going to be fixing this on Christmas eve, so the oven could be used for Christmas dinner. Your agent...

Burner wouldn't light automatically Cheryl W. • Carlsbad , CA • March 31, 2017
Replaced igniter and orifice assembly, and replaced spark module. Used the video for help, but the video doesn't show the top cover piece that needs to be taken off first.
Also the screws for the igniter set were stuck from old grease or something and had to be drilled out. Overall the project was well worth my time for the cost vs replacement decision. AppliancePartsPros.com makes it so easy to choose a part and guesstimate the probably of choosing the right one.

I ordered the correct part from AppliancePartsPros.com. When I received it, I opened the package and identified the parts I would need for my application. I cleaned up around my work space, then turned the power off to the appliance. I removed all the burners to get to the mounting screws for the range top. I then lifted the range top and supported it so I could see what I was working on . I first inspected all the wiring for breaks, or fraying. Then I moved on to the switch. Two screws...

I needed a new gasket, the broiler element had burned up and the light lens was broken many moons ago Paula B. • Scenery Hill , PA • June 22, 2017
I have had this oven for 40+ years. It is an enamel oven, something that you can no longer buy. Because I did not wish to buy new, I decided to service it myself and searched for the parts I needed. AppliancePartsPros.com was the only site to offer all three parts, so many having been discontinued by other providers. I replaced the oven gasket, the broiler element & the lens without any difficulty. I have replaced the bake element previously as well. I am very grateful that I was able to keep...

With the help of several You Tube videos I was able to diagnose the problem. Diagnosis was confirmed with the help of a multi-meter. The thermo fuse was dead. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros on Wednesday and it arrived via UPS on Friday afternoon. Ge oven would not reach temperature set and seemed to be an intermittent problem Billy L. • Auburn , CA • October 24, 2014
I found exploded parts view of oven and looked for oven sensor probe and control card parts. I also looked at great videos and read past repair stories. I decided the problem had to be one of the two parts (probe or card) and ordered both.
I decided that the probe should be changed first rather than involve a circuit card. I changed the probe and tested the oven and it works again.

Very noisy convection fan Daniel P. • Tampa , FL • June 08, 2019
Ordered a new convection fan motor and blade. Had to remove current blade from inside oven, then remove back panels (yes, it took two to get to the fan motor), and replaced the motor. Old motor well past shot. Had been noisy for about 3-4 weeks, but our kitchen was being remodeled, so we let it slide.
Once it was clear how to remove back panel, the job was easy. Took about $100 and 2 hours of my time, but the oven convection fan is running silently again. Have not installed the new fan...

My maytag mmv4205bab over the cooktop mounted microwave stopped heating without any warning the unit sounded like it was working but now the sound was noticeably louder i had replaced a magnetron Lee B. • Lakewood , CA • February 27, 2015
After dismounting the unit from its wall-hanging bracket, the most tedious part of the repair was removing over a dozen screws holding the cover in place from the top, bottom, and both sides. Fortunately, I had placed the unit on a bench that allowed me to slide the unit allowing access to the screws on the bottom edges of the unit. Always discharge the capacitor before continuing to work on the unit by discharging the capacitor by shorting the contact without the diode to ground. Access to the...
