Buttons on the control panel stopped working Sarah G. • Sterling , IL • July 18, 2014
After an over spill on the range one day, half the buttons on our control panel no longer worked. Well the bake button worked so we kept using that and only using the oven on 350 degrees for almost a year. Well, finally the bake button went the way of the others and the oven would not turn on due to the buttons not working. We bought the Control Panel Part and traded it out. It was a very simple fix...figuring out how to get the built in oven out was harder than this replacement. I think...

The oven control panel went in easily -- 4 screws to get access to it and four more to replace it. the panel does not include the face plate surface, but the existing plate can be removed from the control panel using a butter knife and re-used on the new panel. it holds on to enough of the stickiness.

Some digits on membrane did not work Fred H. • Farmingville , NY • December 31, 2014
I called Appliancepartspros.com they suggested first to replace the membrane first. I removed the old one and connected the new one temporary. Tested every button, then after everything worked I stuck the membrane to the stove. The only problem I had was trying to remove the ribbon cables from the circuit board. They are in very tight.

Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: 5765M434-60
This Whirlpool touchpad and control panel is intended for use with wall ovens. The control panel and touchpad provide users with the ability to control the oven's functions. The touchpad can wear out through normal, everyday use over time. The panel itself, although made from stainless steel and very durable, can also begin to wear if not properly cleaned and maintained.Signs that the touchpad might need to be replaced include difficulty pressing the buttons and operating the oven. If the overlay on the display is difficult to read, or if the metal is corroding, it should also be replaced. Before replacing this part, first turn off the breaker to the oven. Then, remove the two screws at the top of the display and pull outward. Remove the control board from the inside and install it in the new panel, then install the panel. This is a genuine OEM part, sold individually. It fits Maytag wall ovens only.

Genuine Whirlpool part

Part Number: 5765M480-60
Each piece is sold separately from the unit. This part is a Whirlpool oven control panel assembly. The control panel assembly and control board act as one unit to make up the central command center of the oven. The front-facing area contains the dials visible to the user, and the rear houses the actual circuit board. When a control panel assembly or the control board malfunction, the oven is essentially out of commission. In some cases, the malfunction may be gradual, with specific settings and functions going out one at a time. If burners begin to short out individually, or certain functions cannot be toggled on or off, it may be time for a replacement control board assembly.Installation of the part on compatible models is fairly simple. There is one screw on each side of the control panel assembly on the front of the oven. Remove these screws and the control panel should slide off with ease. There are two connecting wire harness components on either side of the control panel. Remove these connections and replace with the new control board, and pop it back into place before replacing the screws. This component can be used with Whirlpool or Maytag appliances. It is a genuine OEM product sourced directly from the manufacturer.

The keypad functions did not work the clock worked but it could not be changed Craig D. • Hollywood , CA • September 10, 2014
Originally, I was told by Appliance Parts technician that the control board needed replacing. I ordered a new board and replaced it. No change. Called another AP technician and he said it is the panel control board which is the keypad that needed replacing and promptly provided me a return authorization number to return the control board.
I replaced the panel control board (key pad) and all is working once again. I probably saved $600 by doing it myself.

Control panel on my range did not work Guy F. • Mililani , HI • July 21, 2014
First took apart my range control panel to review the possible failed component based on the flashing error code I was receiving. Found some insects inside the panel. Cleaned out but this did not work..possible short. Checked online with your chat service and they confirmed the two possible parts I may need. I ordered and replaced the most likely one and that did the trick. Part is working great and it did not take more than an hour to install.
