Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this. I began the repair process with basic troubleshooting. The two-year-old Whirlpool dishwasher was not washing. At first, I thought it was not getting water. I initially purchased a door switch, thinking that it would solve the problem. I replaced the switch by removing the top 6 star screws, removing the component cover and removing one of the door switches (using a 3/16 socket) with the new one that I bought but I still had the problem. Used the vinyl touch up paint on the tops of posts and slid vinyl tips over 130 posts. The paint acts as an adhesive to keep the tips secure. Read more
