Whirlpool Gasket & Seal

Ordered new gaskets from Appliance Parts Pros, arrived in 4 days. Removed old gaskets and replaced by starting at top corner and. Pushing seal into slot. Day before, opened seal boxes and spread seals to smooth out. Took about 10 minutes to replace both door seals. Right door magnetic seal improved but not great. Adjusted level and installed a 1/16” washer in door bottom hinge, which leveled door better and improved the seal strength. Read more

Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. Did some online research and everything pointed to the fact that moisture was getting into the freezer and therefore the seal was not doing it's job. I ran my finger along the seal and sure enough I detected cold air coming out of one corner of the seal. I ordered the appropriate part from Appliance Parts Pros (APP) but decided to test my diagnosis by installing thin weather stripping in the affected area. This time I replaced the front and rear bearings and thrust bearing and all the gears. The hardest part is thoroughly cleaning out all the old grease. After re-greasing and assembly mixer ran like new. I wish a more robust worm gear was available. A snap ring plier is a must for this job. Read more

My refrigerator was not dispensing ice. I could hear the motor activating but noticed the ice auger was not turning. My old drive shaft was stripped on both ends. Video was very helpful and it was an easy fix for someone with little handyman experience. Received my order much faster than expected! I followed the very well made repair video for this particular part. The total time it took for the repair was under 20 minutes. But I have a suggestion for the repair video and that is to emphasize that when reinstalling boot. Have the tachnician point out that there are drain holes in the boot that need to be situated and reattached toward the bottom of the washer chassis. • Leaking

I thought it was the gasket so I ordered a new one. While waiting for it to arrive I read some other forums where I read that sometimes the air vent on the front could be dirty and cause leaking. I popped out that vent cover and it was clogged. Using an old toothbrush and a tiny paint brush I cleaned all of the gunk out. No more leak even with the old gasket in place. I'll save the new gasket for when I need it in the future. Read more

I determined that the gasket was pinched, leaking at corner. Ordered new gasket from this site (easy find with part diagram). Removed old gasket, replaced with new. Read more

We watched a "youtube" video on how to fix a fridge door seal and even though this particular model fridge was not the same...it helped to see how to fix it. It took me 20 minutes to remove and replace the new door seal. The part ordered was ordered and delivered next day which was great!! Read more
