Whirlpool Switch

Looked online, appeared to be door switch or control panel. Tried door switch first, a $30 part. Installed new door switch and washer started right up and appears to be fixed. Have not tried full wash cycle yet, but problem appears to be fixed. I decided to buy part from AppliancePartsPros.com because I could return the part if it did not correct the problem, no one else offered such a deal. Found start button was locking down, but no power for motor was coming out of time. Opened timer and found a contact was burned enough that it did not touch, bent and cleaned it, reassembled and dryer worked. So replace timer, took 2 days to get timer and 10 minutes to replace. Read more

This switch fixed a very frustrating problem, 75% of the time the washer refused to run because it "thought" the door was open. Replacing the switch was a very easy, in expensive, 5-min fix. The washer runs like new. When taking off the gasket, there is a metal ring that holds the gasket in place. It is connected by a spring. First check to see how many leads your switch has before ordering - I ordered before I took things apart, and got an incorrect 2 lead version when I needed a 3. Trial and error only cooktop unit. Everything mounted into the counter and needed to pull unit out. I figured it was a control switch or the burner itself. Based on costs, I took the less expensive route and replaced the 2 known malfunctioning switches. All on-line videos said it was a 2-3 hour process to replace. I found that turning the water level switch back and forth would activate the machine So I replaced the water level switch and the plastic hose that connected to it. I purchased a clamp in the purchase, but it was the wrong size! There wasn't a clamp used in the original set up, so I installed the switch and hose without it! Turned OFF the CIRCUIT BREAKER for the RANGE at home electric control panel. Checked RANGE to verify power to entire RANGE was OFF by observing that control panel and OVEN lights were OFF and no burner operation.
