First had to clean inside the empty freezer, that was the hard part. removed old gasket and cleaned inside the track in the door. had the new gasket well warmed and in the right shape. put new gasket in track. seating it firmly. I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. Replace your washer tub cover seal to stop leaks between the inner tub and outer tub cover. Install with groove facing up, maintaining proper clearance.
This was some repair! My SG1000 stackable is over 30 years old and was purchased second hand.
