• Little to no heat when broiling

Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order). • Leaking

Thought leak was coming from icemaker but refrigerator was making ice just fine. had puddle on floor just below freezer door. upon closer inspection realized leak was coming from drain line. there were 2 pieces of tubing and the connector. leak was coming from where tubing goes into connector. wanted to replace it. didn't know what it was called. did live chat with someone I think was named James. he sent me diagrams and I could identify the part. once identified I ordered it. boom.... Put both thermostats in as I did not know if the unit was cycling on high limit at times. Fixed both issues plus I used my lawn blower and blew all the lint out of dryer and short 3' hose. I also lubed rear drum bearings. Works like new. Ron R Read more

• No hot or cold water

I tested the Atc. mid level switch, with my multi tester and found it was not sending enough current to the cold water inlet valve, so it would not open and let cold water in. I replaced the switch, (it was a snap) literally it snapped in place. replace the front face and turned the water back on and plugged in the washer, and turned it on. It worked perfect and has been since. good and easy repair even for a novice like me.. Read more

I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. These are very easy to replace ,just gave the old one a quarter turn lifted it out took the two wires off (noted where each one will go on the new burner ) pop the wires onto the new burner put it on and good to go. Read more

• Door won't open or close

I replaced the hinge due to the hinge spring breaking. To replace the hinge you do the following: 1. Disconnect power to stove, either at circuit box or at outlet. 2. Lift door off of outside hinge arms ; no screws are used to attach the door to the hinge 3. Remove two screw on under side of cook top, one on each side. 4. Disconnect cook top connector. 5. Little procrastination paid off. With only 50% capability I knew it is time to call the appliancepartspros. They shipped me parts within 3 days. It was practical to fix both at the time. All I needed was to disconnect power at range breaker box, grab a screwdriver to lift top open, a 16 inch or so piece of old 2×4 wood to keep the top top of stove lifted, so I could access heating elements from underneath. • Lid or door won't close

The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. I replaced the switch, the plunger, plunger guide and the lid cam, but the cam still didn't turn on the switch. Turned out someone had stood on the washer and bent the lid slightly, not enough to notice, but since I had ruled out just about everything else I started looking at the lid itself. I ended up bending it back close to it's original shape and now it works fine. I guess I learned a few things about washing machines though. I had removed three screws behind the control board cover of the washer, to access the old lid switch. I checked the continuety of the of the switch with a multimeter and it obviously failed the the test by displaying infinity of <1, rather than being 0. I removed the old switch with a flathead screw driver, I tested the new one and installed it in no time. Problem solved!!! Read more
