• Freezer not defrosting

Order part at appliancepartspros.com *( Heater and Thermal Assy. ) and with that I watch a video on how to repair my fridge. It took me about 15 minutes to replace the parts. I think it took me longer than that to watch the video itself because I want to make sure that I will do it right. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. Removed old label, took the glue residue off, wiped it down with rubbing alcohol then attached the new label on to the fridge. Read more

Ordered the parts from AppliancePartsPros after another outlet had me on back order. The parts arrived and I installed them. We now are using our freezer. Read more

The freezer would cool down to 0 degrees after being plugged in but once it hit zero the freezer failed to keep it there, it would warm back to room temp. I ordered the cold control knob and it came very quickly! It did come with directions but failed to address what terminal you plug the black and yellow wires into. I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better. I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. My problem was that the refrigerator is a KitchenAid built-in, while the instructions were for a Whirlpool, so the removal of the faceplate was quite different from what was shown in the video and more difficult.
