I actually called a repair service in our area. The serviceman asked questions and detected that I didn't need a timer unit but thought it was just a knob that was required. First symptoms were squeaking drum. This is probably when new glide strips might have been all that we needed. But I put off fixing it... and I put it off some more. Ordered agitator. Removed old agitator by prying up one side of the agitator and then moving the agitator around in a circle while prying up a little at a time because the clips pop off underneath separately and once a few of them come loose the remaining slide off making a clean removal rather than the "jerking-straight-up-and-into-your-face-and-neck-disaster-waiting-to -happen removal". The new slides fit perfectly. One thing to mention is that the slide rails come with the slide bearings so you do not need to buy those separate. When I called I was told I needed the bearings so I bought 3 assuming I would be able to salvage the others. Turns out I did not need them. Read more

After researching the problem on this site, I realized that the most likely cause was a bad bearing contained in the shaft & tube assembly. Essentially, the tub seal failed & allowed water to travel down the shaft & into the housing containing the bearing. Replaced rear bearing, upper and lower felts, drive belt. Have repaired dryer before for same problem years ago, knew what to do, on line diagrams helped to move memory. Cleaned all accumulated lint out of machine.Belt was changed only out of age.Looked good but thought to be on safe side. Read more

OMG.. I was so excited when I found a simple YOUTUBE video showing me how to fix this agitator myself.. and it was SO SIMPLE! The MEN I know, told me I would need to buy a new machine! • Fridge runs too long

First, cleaned all the dirt and lint from the condenser radiator, the fan motor is in a metal housing holding the fan motor in place. look carefully and there is a sheet metal screw at the bottom of the housing, 1/4 inch screw head sheet metal screw. My refrigerator is 13 yrs old and began to build up frost in the ice cube shoot and the water tube began to freeze up over night. The flapper door was not closing completely. I simply removed the control panel by pulling up and out on the bottom edge, the edge is only about 1/8 inch thick, so don't reach in to far.
