• No heat or not enough heat

I just wanted to put my experience here for all to see. I have a Maytag Neptune, MAH5500BWW, one of the original ones. I bought it back in 2002 and it has done many many loads of wash faithfully. So when the bearings started to get loud I thought it best to replace them, the seal kit and the belt. I did my research as best I could and decided to order the OEM parts from an appliance supplier. Ordered conversion kit from Appliance Parts Pros.com and installed it myself. Most difficult part of the repair, was the removal of the front casing of the dryer to access the location of venturi tube to be changed out. The instructions were helpful, but not specific enough for my dryer. • Marks left on clothes

After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. I did, however, find that the drum had some up and down play in it. After closer inspection, I could see that the front drum seal was actually worn to the point that I could see a gap between the seal and the drum. • Door won't close

I chatted with a rep on Appliance Parts Pros and found out which parts I needed for my model of dryer. Ordered the 2 clips that held the door closed. They arrived the next day!! My dryer was very different than the video but we were able to figure out which screws to remove. The old clips popped out and the new ones popped in. Took about 30 minutes because of there being a top and bottom clip to remove and replace and line up the door parts to screw the screws back in. It works great!! I... Read more

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. The dryer was filled with lint and dust/dirt, so I also saw that the seals on the dryer had deteriorated greatly. AppliancePartsPros website is outstanding, far better than its competitors. The dryer is a Kenmore Laundry Center, model 417-99570150. Bought in 1998, so it is an older model. Not wanting to buy the newer ones that are out now. We opted to fix the Kenmore. Just believe the older models are worth fixing, if at all possible. Frist we had to figure out what parts we would need and if the cost would be worth our time. Did google search and found youtube diagnostic and repair video. Blower wheel was warped and rubbing on the cover. We ordered a new blower wheel and followed youtube instructions to install new blower wheel. Read more

I found a few videos on YouTube about other dryers that gave me enough information to figure out my own. I was able to pull out the heater element and replace it with a new one that arrived the day after I purchased it. I also replaced the thermal fuse and thermostat. Read more

REPLACING THE SUSPENSION PADS AND REPLACE THE BALNCE RING EVEN IF MY DIDN'T LEAK ANY FLUID OUT OF IT... IT SOLVE THE PROBLEM, IT WORKS BETTER NOW THAN IT EVER DID, THE ONLY THING I COULD COME WITH IS THE MANUFACTURE PUT THE WRONG BALANCE RING IN IT TO START WITH...
