• Doesn't shut off

I replaced the starter switch, that really didn't need to be replaced, and the thermal fuse, which did. Read more

Replaced the heater tube. Had to open the back up, removed the heating element and then replaced the heater tube. Then I put it all together again and everything is fine now. Read more

• Door won't close

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. Had to remove the front and top panel on the dryer, disconnect the belt and remove the drum. From there it was two screws to slide out the motor assembly with the fan attached and one bolt to remove the clamp and screw kit holding the fan in place. They kit was worn and was allowing the fan to move forward and back on the motor shaft. Once replaced it took about 5 minutes to reassemble and my dryer now purs like a kitten. Read more

Simple unscrewed the set screw, removed the broken sensor-moisture part, attached the leads, and reattached the part to the back of the dryer. Took about 4 minutes. Read more

This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time. Ordered grille cover and filter guide to replace broken parts. Easily removed grille cover and filter guide with star tip screw driver. Broken parts slipped or popped right out. Slid in new filter guide then grille cover. Put the 4 screws back in. Had a little difficulty matching up screw holes in the plastic parts with the holes in the metal of the dryer itself but once they all lined up the repair was quickly finished. I just simply just take 2screws off and remove old latch off and replace new latch on. This is easy not that hard. Read more

After unplugging the dryer from the wall socket, I used a screwdriver ( Phillips ) to remove the light cover fixture. This gave me access to the bulb which had burned out. I first use my fingers to remove the bulb but the base came lose from the glass bulb. I then used a needle nose pliers to remove the metal base of the bulb from the light fixture. First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm.
