Had to remove the front and top panel on the dryer, disconnect the belt and remove the drum. From there it was two screws to slide out the motor assembly with the fan attached and one bolt to remove the clamp and screw kit holding the fan in place. They kit was worn and was allowing the fan to move forward and back on the motor shaft. Once replaced it took about 5 minutes to reassemble and my dryer now purs like a kitten. Read more

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. After unplugging the dryer from the wall socket, I used a screwdriver ( Phillips ) to remove the light cover fixture. This gave me access to the bulb which had burned out. I first use my fingers to remove the bulb but the base came lose from the glass bulb. I then used a needle nose pliers to remove the metal base of the bulb from the light fixture. I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged it. Then I used a 5/16 nut driver and removed the 2 screws in the bottom front panel and pulled it off. Next I removed the 2 5/16 screws holding the front door panel and pulled it down far enough to disconnect the wires for the light and the wires on the door switch. Checked all of the thermostats for continuity and all were working so I just replaced timer. That fixed the problem. Read more

I just simply just take 2screws off and remove old latch off and replace new latch on. This is easy not that hard. Read more

Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. There are a few good video's online showing how to do this job and can save you a lot of time and frustration. Read more

Ordered grille cover and filter guide to replace broken parts. Easily removed grille cover and filter guide with star tip screw driver. Broken parts slipped or popped right out. Slid in new filter guide then grille cover. Put the 4 screws back in. Had a little difficulty matching up screw holes in the plastic parts with the holes in the metal of the dryer itself but once they all lined up the repair was quickly finished. • Door won't close

My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. This was a pretty simple install if you know how to take apart your dryer. I have a kenmore dryer which is identical to an LG dryer. My kenmore dryer was actually made by LG at that time.
