• Won't start

Replace the water temperature sensor and still had the error code. While I had the back of the machine open I ran the washer. I traced the black wires from the temperature sensor and wiggled them as the washer was running. At one zip tie every time i moved the wires the washer would stop running and the error code would flash. Sure enough, like many others posted, the vibration from the machine had split the wire. I spiced the wire back together and have not had a problem since. Read more

After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. The part came within 3 days. The fix was straight forward ...unscrewed the hinge from the dryer then from the door and replaced with new hinge and the door closes the way it should. Read more

Googled what would cause that. Found or needed a new timer. Searched for the best priced timer online. Found one here for a good price. Replaced it myself very easy replacement and saved at least 100 dollars doing it myself. Read more

I actually found a post from another brave soul who was willing to try to fix his, and had stated when he put the new limiter switch in, it fixed the problem. Since the whole back of the dryer needs to come off to get to the burner, and the limiter switch is inexpensive it seemed like common sense to take this approach first. Replaced the heater tube. Had to open the back up, removed the heating element and then replaced the heater tube. Then I put it all together again and everything is fine now. Read more

Replaced the motor with a new one, if I can offer any advice about doing this job, make sure to keep track of where each wire goes on the motor and whatever wires need to be disconnected. First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. Replaced the following parts but did not fix the problem: -Thermister -Thermal fuse -Radiant sensor -Ignitor -Therm The problem was the Centrifugal switch. Took the switch apart and use fine grid sand paper to clean the contacts. Put it back and working. Read more

Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP.
