First I checked the circuit breakers and power to the outlet, then next wanted to check the lid switch, but it wasn't where I had found it on older models. I could hear it clicking on and off as I raised and lowered the lid, but it wasn't visible. I cannot not sing the praises of this company & their helpful & fast service. I finally decided to repair my dishwasher because the door would free fall to the floor possibly breaking the hinges. Also the top shelf was rolling out on its own every time the door was opened. I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. We replaced the black door seal gasket around the front of the dishwasher. The old black seal gasket had begun to deteriorate, every time it was touched black stuff would rub off onto hands and onto utensils in the upper basket. We wore some disposable gloves to remove the old seal to avoid getting the black stuff on our hands. I watched the Appliance Parts Pros repair video and decided to remove the front panel to diagnose the problem. While the repair video is excellent, I could not remove the ice/water dispenser front panel with a putty knife. On my model, 106.56234400, there is no clip that can be released by sliding a putty knife up under the front panel. If you can't pull out the displacement pins on the crisper cover support clips that allow the wall to carry the weight of the cover, slides and drawer, you may need to push those pins in (they fall down the wall) to remove the clip. During the replacement of both front clips, I had one I could remove and one I had attempted to drill a tiny hole in to be able to pull the pin.
