Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more

Our 10-year-old LG WM2487HWMA front load washer had gradually developed multiple problems. We started getting the F06 code when on the normal cycle it was time to Rinse/Spin, pointing to a speed/tachometer issue on the motor. After several attempts of unplugging from power and restarting the cycle it would eventually start working for the rest of the laundry session. I first checked to make sure the washer was level. The washer is on a concrete floor. After watching lots of you tube videos I ordered all the parts that could be causing this problem. I ordered: Balance Ring, Suspension Pad Kit (3 rectangle plastic wear pads), Tub Suspension Pads(3 curved plastic wear pads), Suspension Spring, and a Spanner Wrench tool. Our washing machine door boot seal was getting moldy and causing odor problems. Cleaning tablets and bleach weren't helping so it was time to be replaced. While I had the top and front off I changed all the hoses that could be collecting soap scum and mold, all other wetted parts were removed and washed.
