Maytag Touch Pad

Originally, I was told by Appliance Parts technician that the control board needed replacing. I ordered a new board and replaced it. No change. Called another AP technician and he said it is the panel control board which is the keypad that needed replacing and promptly provided me a return authorization number to return the control board. I replaced the panel control board (key pad) and all is working once again. I probably saved $600 by doing it myself. Read more

My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. We carefully looked at how the old parts were assembled and simply reversed the assembly with the new parts. Initially displayed "30", would not change and no response from control panel button inputs. At one point, the display changed to "12" after a power off and the dryer did function again for a short period of time. It's now working good with a new control panel. Read more

After doing some research online, I saw that to have an appliance repair person come out to fix the touchpad, would cost us well over $500. Some people said they would charge $500 for the part alone. I did a search for the part using our model number and read the reviews on this site and thought we'd give it a try. It was a very easy repair--anyone could do it. Given that I had 14 house guests for a week, I tried calling a Maytag repair man to expedite the fix - unfortunately, he didn't have the part, but did identify the problem as a bad control panel. I ordered the part (#W10235721) from Appliance Part Pros (which was quick and easy) and received the right part the first time and very quickly. Maytag Dishwasher (about 5 years old). Some of the buttons had stopped functioning. Then the Start button began choosing whether or not to work. Eventually it would not start at all. Ordered a new control panel and installed it; The repair is super easy and it would not take more than 10 minutes were I to do it again but because I had never done anything like this before I got stuck at one point and it took me a lot longer. I could not figure out how to get the electrical box off the old control panel - it was just a matter of bending the middle part of the plastic clips but I had not seen that kind of clip before and it was not immediately evident. Removed 6 screws, pried off the board/cable protector, then removed the lock and logic board off the old control panel. The tricky part is removing the ribbon cable and not bending the prongs on the logic board. Reversed the steps to install the new control panel purchased from you guys,. Removed bad board. Put in new board. Make sure you have the foam seal for the steam vent. This is the second time I replaced the board and when I took it apart, I moticed I didn't have the foam seal in place. I either didn't receive one with the new part or I didn't realize it it needed to be there. But that appears to have allowed steam and some water to make its way into the door cavity and short out the board. Read more
