This hose did not just attach to the back of the washer--that would have been too easy. This hose went into the back of the washer, under the tub & attached to the pump at the front of the washer. I replaced the cycle switch, fixing the lack of heat. The timer switch replacement fixed the auto cool down. I watched a cycle switch replacement on Youtube, demonstrating removal of the top console, which answered the only question I had about the repair. The timer switch was a hundred bucks. The only thing to be said about that is that it was a lot cheaper than a repairman or replacing the dryer. Read more

• Won't start

I was searching the web for solutions and came across two folks who had similar trouble code. One fixed his by removing the pump strainer from the pump to find coins blocking water flow, thus the analog water pressure sensor provided a failure response. My issue was solved by following the other hints I got. I ordered a new sensor (switch). It was expensive for what it is, but the washer will not run correctly without it! We started getting the F06 code when on the normal cycle it was time to Rinse/Spin, pointing to a speed/tachometer issue on the motor. After several attempts of unplugging from power and restarting the cycle it would eventually start working for the rest of the laundry session. The Whirlpool technician after a brief look on the underside determined it was the motor and had to be replaced, even tough all troubleshooting tests on the motor were ok. Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more

After watching a number of videos and reading a lot of trouble-shooting discussions online I had ideas of what to look for as possible causes of the overfilling of the drum. I found the water level pressure hose had worn through after contacting the rotor. After temporarily taping the hose, I found the service manual inside the machine so I ran it through it test sequences without any error codes. Removed the front panel and removed the screw from the console which revealed a broken plastic tab on the right side of the old injector. Replaced the old injector with the new one and that took care of the problem. Read more
